Scrapbook Organization and my Ikea cart

So I went for it, I saw this idea for organizing Project Life(PL) cards on Facebook tonight and it was the best one I've seen yet and I had all the components to execute it tonight so I went for it. Turns out I must have way more core kits than the person sharing the idea. However I did get 9, yes 9 core kits condensed down and cleared up another shelf for albums. Go me! I'm going to stick with it a few weeks and see how I like it. I basically took my ikea raskog cart reorganized my traditional supplies to include only necessities for traditional scrapping and then took 3 core kit trays and stood up 3 core kits in each tray.

Valentine's Banner

Oh yeah, I was a do-er today not just a pin-er. I find myself often pinning and pinning and pinning wanting to make such pretty things as others, but never taking the time to do it. Tonight I set out to make a Valentine's banner. I had no game plan, it was a last minute midnight idea as most of my best work is. I have company coming on Friday, the house just got a nice new coat of paint... Decorating was needed. And I can't be happier with the results. I just started grabbing, cutting and glueing. I thought to myself Teresa Collins always had the cutest banners and she just cuts and glues and I love them always. So that's what I did, simple! And here it is...

I used 4 sheets of 12x12 paper, 2 12x12 pieces of acrylic, tulle, ribbon and stickers... Voila! (That little blue plate is next on my list...stay tuned)

New layout for a new child...

Welp I finally decided tonight was the night my second born was going to get some pages in his album. So here is page #1 for my son D. He is 1 month and   1 week, that's excellent timing for me. I decided to try a different approach with his album and sort pics before printing and only print a few events at a time, and to go in order. I think this should keep me organized and not scattered to the "huh have a made this page and did I already print these pics?" Only to find out I wasted money because I had already printed them and just couldn't find them. Wish me luck.

Gallery Wall design...

Finally after a year of thought and 100's of pins later I just went for it. I laid out my frames on the floor for the last time. I got the box of nails and the hammer and just went for it. I'll be honest I didn't follow the usual good tip I see to hang pieces of paper on the wall to help lay it out perfectly. You see I have to admit after years of hanging pictures frames on the wall I like to think of myself as an expert. Plus I got a level eye like nobody's business which my husband hates, usually makes any of his helping cameos harder than he'd prefer. I am quite happy with the results. Granted this isn't 100% done obviously, because I don't know half the people pictured in these frames. But that's the next part, at least the frames are up! 

 

Oh yeah that big blank spot is for a beautiful family picture 18x24 canvas print. Just need to take the family photo (Hah!)

New mommy again!

Didn't get lost again just a little side tracked. I had my second child one week ago today. So now I have the best of both worlds, a girl and a boy! Will be back with more fun things to share!

Photo shoot!!

Today was the first photo shoot of many to come. When I got a big ol' fancy camera a year ago I promised my husband I wouldn't step foot into a professional studio again, so here we are. One PVC backdrop stand and lots of backdrop fabrics later. It went good.

Don't mind the funny yellow glare, that's a picture of my computer monitor. I'd say we had success today! Getting prepared for a baby photo shoot any day now as soon as he/she pops out!!

Easy Halloween Decor!

One piece of paper, some jute and tulle. 10 minutes of my time and voila! Thank you Teresa Collins. We just moved but I was able to spare this small amount of time to make something personal to decorate for the season!
